My Condolences and Admiration

I want to extend my deepest sympathies to a fellow blogger. And my admiration to the other. Today I read two posts, one so heartwarming and one so very sad. You may need a tissue for both, but for different reasons. I left comments, one very happy and one very sad.

I rewarded each post five picks and again, for different reasons. I feel that both posts should be read by everyone who is a dog lover and those that are not. Please take some time and read these two stories.

I suspended my post today, which was very informative, to have my readers leave my blog for theirs. If you have not read these posts, please do.

Here is my drawings of my former dog. He has been gone since 1994. His name is Bagel and he was  found in a sewer when he was a puppy. I immediately adopted him and he was my best friend for 16 years. In tomorrow’s post you will meet Cheam Cheez when I post my living room Christmas Trees. Cream Cheez has been with me 26 years. I lost Bagel, my loyal friend, to old age, so I was literally speechless leaving my comment today. And you all know, I am rarely without words.

Thank you for those links. Why do happiness and heartbreak always seem to go together?

  2. lifeshighway says:

Thanks for the links. I have a special place in my heart for an animal lover.

  3. Edith Hope says:

Dear GWGT, It is, I think the unconditional love that we receive from a pet that makes them so much a part of our lives. Life, they say, must have its low points in order to really appreciate the highs, but it is always a comfort to know that someone is there to share the happiness and the sorrow.

I’ve visited the links you provided. Thanks.

Dogs are wonderful. They are able to bring ‘love’ out of us. I am thankful for the magic they perform without effort.

26 years is an awefully long life for a dog. I guess its better for our dog to leave before we do. Who is around to take care of them if they live longer than us?

    • Hi One,
I am at work and can not reply to all, but wanted to let you know that Cream Cheez is a parrot, not a dog. He will live most likely longer than me. So he is like a young adult in bird years. And Bagel was almost 17. He was a Norwegian Elkhound mix. I bet you cried at Crumpet’s story. I am so sad for Catherine.

  5. Karen says:

Donna, The two stories are so different and yet have a common thread–love. Catherine’s story was so sad; so needless on the man’s part. I hope he receives some penalty for his heartless act.

The artwork of your beloved Bagel is breath-taking. What a wonderful way to memorialize your friend. How lucky you were to find each other.

  6. I’m not a dog person, but I had read those 2 posts because Blotanists pulled them forward. Both are heart-wrenching in a different way.

    What powerful stories.

Love the sketches of your own dog. You have really captured something special.
