Lewiston GardenFest is Coming

It is on the Way….

It is official, the Lewiston GardenFest is on the calendar for everyone wanting to spend a day or two having fun with family and friends. You can visit gardens opened for viewing in Historic Lewiston during this two-day event.

Get inspiration from a variety of gardening styles, and make sure you have your camera handy. There is so much to see in this beautiful town, from cute shops to find that unique gift item, restaurants with great food and service, and many lovely historic buildings. And of course… gardens, public and private.

Make sure to see the riverfront too. Seeing the scenery surrounding the Niagara River is breathtaking, Lewiston really has it all.

Shop the many vendors, selling items for all your gardening needs or wants. The booths include, nurseries, landscapers, garden artists and garden supply vendors.

Purchase colorful garden decor to brighten your garden. Garden artists have so much variety and creatively crafted wares.

Trees and shrubs can go home to enhance and structure your garden. Or, if you are in need of seasonal color and texture, add some perennials. All can be found at the many vendors selling plants.

Demonstrations, featured speakers, floral societies and of course, Master Gardeners to answer your garden questions.  The educational aspect is incorporated into the GardenFest program. Floral societies have information booths set up to field questions and offer advice. Speakers are scheduled each day to bring a wealth of information your way.

Bring your soil to be tested and go home with the information you might need to improve your garden. Master Gardeners are on hand to test your garden soil and get your garden growing well. Find them in the Hennepin Park Gazebo.

Just look for the bright red table runner.

2009 Winner

Oh, and there is a Container Gardening Contest.  Get your entry in the annual event if you are a local garden club, organization, or just a creative homeowner.  The public has been asked to vote for a winner and it is sure to be a fun contest.

Come to our new website often, as we will be updating and adding more and more information and images as the time grows near.

The Lewiston GardenFest is sponsored and presented by the Lewiston Garden Club, a District 8 Member of the NY State Federated Garden Clubs.

Stop back here at Garden Walk Garden Talk for news and updates too on this exciting event, and make sure you visit, http://www.lewistongardenfest.com/. Watch as Niagara gets growing.
